Quilt Patterns Ideas for Wool Scraps
Quilt patterns – Cotton is the fabric choice for most quilters and is usually the bulk of their scrap fabric. But if you create a lot of winter clothing from woolen fabric, you need a way to use these wool scraps. A quilt is the best way to do it.
Crazy quilt patterns. The crazy best quilt pattern offers itself as an easy way to use up fabric scraps, even wool. And also make sure all your pieces are of the same overall weight and thickness to form a contiguous quilt surface. A traditional crazy quilt uses substrate fabrics, usually mussels, like creating the quilt top. Random shapes and sizes of fabric sew directly on the muslin. All kinds of decorative embroidery stitches are used to pull the pieces together and further embellish the quilt top.
Another kind of crazy quilt can be done in the same way, except that they are made in large blocks. The blocks then sewn together to form the duvet top. Add more embroidery to decorate and hide the seams. Some modern quilt patterns are organized and geometric. If you have large and medium wool scraps, this may be the project for you. Create a geometric block pattern with templates for each piece. Use the same pattern for each block (then repeat the pattern) and then attach the blocks together to the top of the duvet. The same pattern can be used with each block created differently, as well.
